PhD ResearcherThe questions my artistic practice embraces cannot be separated from my positionality. Born in Colombia, I have lived half of my life in Europe. I engage and relate with and within the world, bridging Western epistemics and saberes o formas de hacer y sentir - or disruptive epistemic-between the North and the South. My artistic practice has been strongly shaped by sensibilities, inquiry, and ways of being in the world imposed, constituted, and transversed by modernity through coloniality.
Currently, I am advancing PhD practice-based artistic research. Drawing from my practice in performance and site-specific installation as situated artistic practices, I examine the inherent tensions between the individual and the collective constitution of places.
I am still continuously learning with los saberes compartidos entre lenguas, with a divided soul by following the path of ancestors traced by feminist, queer women of colour and decolonial educators and practitioners Gloria Anzaldúa, Maria Lugones and Silvia Rivera Cusicanqui.
