Summer Solstice: Garden Day
21.06.202510:00 - 15:00
LUCA Campus Ter Beken
Beekstraat 1-3, 9030 Ghent
The SIT-PLU Lab warmly invites you to an open garden day in the dye garden at Campus Ter Beken on Sunday the 21st of June from 10:00 - 15:00, we will work collectively in the garden and share a potluck lunch together.
Like last year, when the sun reaches its highest point, you are invited to harvest St. John’s Wort flowers with us and make a healing oil. Around this time, St. John’s Wort produces a red pigment as a protective mechanism. Alongside St. John’s Wort, we will look together at a variety of plants that produce red colour pigments as survival strategies.
How can we collectively learn from and be with these plants in times of heat?
At 13:00, we will gather for a shared potluck lunch. Please bring enough food for 1–2 people—our table is a collective one, where everyone gets a taste of everything.
* Please bring a clean glass jar with a tight-fitting lid (like a jam jar)—we’ll provide the oil base.
Please sign up via the registration here.
