Workshop with Philippine Hoegen
12.12.2022During the 1 day-workshop with performance artist Philippine Hoegen we dived into questions around pluriformity, attentive listening and the position of the speaker via body based performative methods. What is non-extractive listening and how can we build practices of attentive listening? We read Sophie Bourgault’s text: ‘Attentive listening and care in a neoliberal era: Weilian insights for hurried times’ while using different modalities of reading, listening, witnessing and empathic engagement. Different ways of listening can open up different ways of experiencing time and other (human) beings. One of the conclusions was that the preparation - time, modes, formats - for attentiveness can be za valuable part of artistic research to build the process of becoming more attentive.
